If you have checked out the about me page of this site, you’ll know that I didn’t start traveling until I met my now husband in my early twenties. My childhood vacations consisted of hotels every weekend for softball and volleyball tournaments for myself and my two younger siblings. At the time, I’d always ask my parents why we never went on a “nice vacation”. Our vacations consisted of a couple days at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun in Kansas City and taking in a Kansas City Royals game. Of course, as an adult, I see the sacrifice my parents made and realize how expensive it was for us to compete at that level. In my early twenties, my husband and I went on a 5-day cruise and from that moment, I was hooked. I feel in love with the turquoise water and powder soft sand between my toes. Nevermind, the huge ship (which pales in comparison) to the ships that are around today. I had never seen such beautiful islands and the waters that seemed to go on for an eternity. I had certainly found my happy place. It wasn’t long after that first trip, I started planning and researching a trip that we could take my daughter on. My family ended up coming as well and we surprised my 6-year-old daughter as well (she’d been bugging us to go on a cruise since we had gotten back from our first trip).
I am constantly planning and researching our next adventure. For me, nothing beats the anticipation of an upcoming trip. I’ve helped my friends and family plan their vacations and get just as excited if it were my own trip. It wasn’t until recently that I text my husband saying “How do you feel about starting a travel business?” Of course, he was incredibly supportive, and we started talking and praying about it. It wasn’t too long after that we decided to dive in and here we are! I am excited for this new journey to see where it takes me and look forward to planning many, many trips.
